The European Popular Tourism Fair – Amsterdam Special Journey Tourism Show 2026 was officially inaugurated today at the Beurs van Berlage, Damrak, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The prestigious event brought together over 150 tourism exhibitors from across Europe and around the world.

Nepal was proudly represented by Everest Pioneer Trek Nepal, along with several other Nepali tour operators. On the very first day, the fair welcomed around 5,000 visitors, including tourism professionals, travelers, and international media representatives.

The Nepal exhibitors successfully showcased Nepal’s diverse tourism destinations, capturing strong interest from European visitors. Many guests actively inquired about trekking, adventure, cultural, and Himalayan travel experiences, collected e-flyers and destination information, and expressed plans to visit Nepal in the near future—an encouraging sign for the growth of Nepal’s tourism industry.

Everest Pioneer Trek Nepal has participated continuously from 2020 to 2026, marking its fourth successful presence at this renowned European tourism fair.

The event proved highly valuable in strengthening international travel partnerships, networking, and future business connections. We remain hopeful and confident that this strong exposure will contribute positively to Nepal tourism promotion worldwide. Thank you

Nepal made a compelling case for its position as a leading adventure tourism destination during its participation in “Adventure Connect,” a prestigious networking event hosted by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) on Wednesday at Nuna Kitchen & Bar, Queen Street, Toronto.

The event brought together more than 40 prominent Canadian travel operators, media professionals, and local tourism businesses, as well as representatives from Nepal and other international travel destinations. It served as a dynamic platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and global collaboration in the adventure tourism sector.

Representing Nepal at the event, Shahadev Shrestha, founder of Everest Pioneer Trek Nepal, described the gathering as a powerful opportunity to establish international partnerships and explore new avenues for business. “Such initiatives are crucial for the growth and prosperity of Nepal’s tourism industry,” said Shrestha. “They not only promote our adventure destinations but also help position Nepal as a global leader in sustainable travel.”

Shrestha delivered a detailed presentation on Nepal’s diverse adventure tourism offerings, including world-renowned trekking routes, mountaineering expeditions, and culturally immersive experiences. He emphasized the country’s unique blend of natural beauty, ancient heritage, and spiritual richness that continues to attract travelers from around the globe.

The event also featured engaging presentations from Julia Williams, ATTA’s Community Lead for North America, and Marvic Gil, a tourism expert from Peru. Williams offered a comparative analysis of adventure tourism in Peru and Nepal, noting both countries’ strengths in trekking, cultural richness, and eco-tourism. Gil shared insights into Peru’s strategic tourism plans and preparations for ATTA’s 2025 events, shedding light on emerging trends in global adventure travel.

“Adventure Connect” is a signature ATTA event aimed at strengthening collaboration among tourism stakeholders. It facilitates connections between travel operators, destination management companies, and tourism boards, while promoting emerging travel destinations across the globe.

Nepal’s active engagement in such high-profile international forums signals its growing commitment to positioning itself as a top-tier destination for adventure tourism. With the global demand for experiential and sustainable travel on the rise, Nepal is poised to offer travelers not just thrilling adventures but also meaningful cultural and historical experiences.

As Shrestha aptly summarized, “Nepal’s tourism future lies in strategic global partnerships, innovative offerings, and a deep respect for our natural and cultural heritage.” Thank you.

Nepal Showcases Tourism Potential at the 34th International Tourism and Travel Show in Canada

Montréal, November 2024 – The Embassy of Nepal in Canada, in collaboration with Everest Pioneer Trek Nepal (P) Ltd., actively participated in the 34th edition of the International Tourism and Travel Show held at Palais des Congrès, Montréal, from November 1 to 3, 2024. The participation was part of Nepal’s ongoing economic diplomacy initiative to boost tourism by promoting the country as a top travel destination.

According to a press release issued by the Nepalese Embassy in Canada, a solo Nepali stall was set up during the three-day event. The booth featured a wide array of tourism promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, documentaries, and visual displays that highlighted Nepal’s diverse tourism offerings—from cultural heritage and trekking adventures to spiritual journeys and nature-based activities.

The Nepali stall attracted a large number of visitors who showed strong interest in learning more about Nepal. Attendees inquired about travel seasons, climate conditions, connectivity options, and whether Nepal offers attractions suited to travelers of all age groups. The high level of engagement indicated strong curiosity and enthusiasm for Nepal’s travel experiences.

The International Tourism and Travel Show, now in its 34th year, is one of the most prominent tourism expos in Quebec, drawing participants from over 100 countries. The event featured a mix of global culinary experiences, cultural performances, destination-focused seminars, and B2B networking sessions, making it a key platform for international tourism promotion.

Shahadev Shrestha, Director of Everest Pioneer Trek Nepal, emphasized the significance of such international events. “This type of exhibition plays an important role in promoting Nepal’s tourism,” he remarked. “We’ve been participating in this travel mart for the last four years, and each year we see growing interest. Many international visitors have taken our brochures and expressed genuine interest in visiting Nepal. Some have even started planning their trips for 2025 and 2026.”

Nepal’s presence at the show served not only to increase visibility among Canadian and international travelers but also to build stronger ties with global tourism stakeholders. With sustained efforts in tourism diplomacy and continued participation in major travel expos, Nepal aims to attract a greater number of international tourists in the coming years.

Good news for  Nepal Tourism

The Nepal government’s decision to require quarantine for tourists who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus or with a 72-hour PCR report has boosted the tourism sector. The procedure submitted by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has been approved by the Council of Ministers.

The cabinet has also decided to issue an arrival visa to tourists from Tribhuvan International Airport. The government had also stopped on arrival visas along with the lockdown last year. Director-General of the Department of Tourism Rudra Singh Tamang said that a tourism environment will be created in Nepal with the government’s decision.

“It will be easier now as the government has made a decision long after the proposal was sent,” said Rudra Singh Tamang, director-general of the tourism department. Tamang also informed us that they are preparing to test the PCR sample at the airport. The government has also abolished the $ 5,000 corona insurance requirement for foreign tourists.

Since October 20, the government had made an arrangement that tourists who want to come to Nepal should come to Nepal only with a visa from the Nepali Mission in the same country on the recommendation of businessmen and bodies related to travel and tourism. Source: Nepal News
